    Scenic Journey to the Andes: Settle into our private transport and relax as we journey for two hours on paved roads towards the Southern Valley. Take in the charm of picturesque Andean towns as we pass through. Upon reaching the village of Cusipata (10,826 ft), savor a delicious continental breakfast – the perfect fuel for the exciting trek ahead.

    Traverse the Majestic Foothills: After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey on a dirt road for approximately 1.5 hours, reaching the trailhead known as Phulawasipata (15,255 ft). Throughout this scenic drive, witness the grandeur of the rolling Andean Mountains. Keep an eye out for quaint Andean towns like the Paucarpata district and the community of Chillihuani. You might also spot herds of llamas and alpacas grazing peacefully alongside the occasional shepherd or local inhabitant.

    Hike amidst Ancient Traditions: Our trek begins at Phulawasipata, following a meandering path through the foothills of the mighty Andes. As we ascend, be captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views. Immerse yourself in the typical Andean landscape, its unique flora, and fauna. Look out for llamas and alpacas, and with a bit of luck, you might even spot some elusive chinchillas or vicuñas (the only wild member of the llama family).

On a clear day, witness the majestic Ausangate Mountain (20,900 ft) in the distance – the highest peak in the region and a significant Apu (mountain deity) in Andean culture. Enjoy a well-deserved break for 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace and the weather conditions. Feel free to inform your guide if you’d like to spend more time at the summit.

    Explore the Red Valley (optional): Weather permitting, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Red Valley – a surreal landscape of vibrantly red mountains! Savor some time to relax, take those classic Instagram-worthy shots, and create lasting memories.

    Descent and Delicious Lunch: We descend via the same route, taking approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach the trailhead. Our private transport will be waiting to whisk you away to a local restaurant in Cusipata village for a delicious lunch, the perfect way to refuel after your adventure.

    Return to Cusco: Following lunch, we’ll comfortably return to Cusco by private transport, with a hotel drop-off around 5:00 PM or 5:30 PM.
